A Better Week

Toby has steadily improved over the last few days. He has got rid of his fungal infection and stopped his anti fungal drugs. This is a lot sooner than we at first feared. He is trying to breast feed and is improving each day. We are waiting to see when we can get his central line taken out as it is still a risk of infection. Obviously they don't want to remove it if they may need to use it so we are waiting for a doctors decision. Catherine will be staying at the hospital next week to try and get him to breast feed at night. Hopefully she wont be there too long! Toby's liver is still not so good and we are waiting for some test results. The doctors do not seem to be overly concerned so hopefully all will be well. Thank you to everyone who has been praying for us. We have had some wonderful nurses looking after us both at North Manchester and St Mary's. God has blessed us in many ways although it has been a very tough time. Toby gets more alert each day and seems to want to eat continuously! He also doesn't like being put down and would rather be cuddled. He has certainly already got us wrapped round his very small fingers already! We hope you like the photos, here Toby is conducting is first concert.

Hi there,

Its wonderful to see how much he has grown and changed in features. He most certainly sounds as though he has turned a corner, what a fighter!!! We will continue to pray for him and trust that God will carry him through these next important days of learning to feed

much love

Fantastic news, hopefully soon he'll be at home soon and spoilt rotten. Someone once said to me about breastfeeding (which I found really helpful at the beginning, and several weeks down the line when it was all going wrong!) that it's the same amount of work as bottle feeding but you put all the effort in at the beginning. By the time they get to 8 months (and are still waking up in the night!) you don't even need to think about it. Hope it goes well, they get the hang of it in the end but with K it did take quite a while.
