I Close My Eyes

Sorry that there was no post yesterday however we were very late back from the hospital and sleep really did feel more important. Toby is 2 weeks old today, it really seems a lot longer than that to us but it has been an amazing fews weeks. When Toby was only a few days old I was sitting next to his incubator at Hope hospital and I closed my eyes just for a few moments as I was really tired but something happened that I was not expecting. When I closed them I had a mental picture of his cute little face and he was all I could think of. In all the business of the following few days I forgot to mention it to Catherine, however as we were talking one afternoon she said the same thing back to me. Even when we are not with Toby he is always on our minds. Toby continues to make progress so thank you all for your prayers. Thanks also for all your messages and comments on the blog, keep them coming as we love to read them and we will be printing them all off so Toby can read when he grows up. I have changed the set-up now so you don't have to log-in to write a comment.

It was just great being with you at the weekend and to see how our little grandson has progressed since we saw him when he was just a day old. It was wonderful to be able to see him without all the tubes and to see how altert he is to all that is going on around him. Best of all, watching you both holding him and to see the great love you have for him. Toby is going to be surrounded by so much love - what great start in life for him. Thanks to all the staff at SCBU for all they do. Love Gran and Grandpa.

Hi Rowbottom family,

Every day people at school are asking how Toby and Catherine are doing. It's wonderful to be telling them how well Toby is doing and how well Catherine looked last Wednesday. It's amazing being able to watch Toby growing on the webpage, I feel like I know him already and I've not yet met him in person!

Isn't it bizarre that as soon as you get your baby in your life you suddenly can't imagine how you ever lived your life without him there! My boys are definately the best thing that ever happened to me.

Keep the blog entries coming!

love Debbie and the boys

What wonderful photos of Toby. Thank you so much for sharing him with everyone. He looks like you Ian. God is so good and is answering our prayers. You have a fine son and we're so pleased he is progressing so well. It must be lovely for you both to be at home and I bet you can't wait to have Toby home too.

Lots of love to you all and to the extended family as well.
