IBM and the Georgia Institute of Technology (GIT) have produced the world's fastest silicon chip. The researchers reached a clock speed of 500GHz by reducing its temperature to just 4.5° above absolute zero. If your not into computers much that is about 500 times faster than most people computers. I knew Apple switching from IBM to Intel would come to hunt us!

Urban Planet

As mentioned before I really like listening to BBC World Service radio and they are currently running a series of programmes on the expansion of urban living. What has prompted the series is the fact that now 50% of the world population lives in urban areas. You can listen to all of the programmes as well as plot the growth of urban area in the future at their website. Go and visit it today.

World Cup Fever

It’s that time again when everyone goes mad about a bunch of men kicking a ball around a field. Yes the World Cup starts today. I’m not really into football at all, however I do always seem to end up watching England games and quite enjoying it, I’m not sure if it is a patriotic thing or if it’s just because you can’t seem to get away from it. Whatever it is I sure the country will be in a good mood as long as we are in it.
